Ladies Free to do their Art

As I was working on this page today, I couldn't help but think of all you talented gals who have encouraged me with my new endeavor, Art Journaling.....so I dedicate this page  to all of you....
Alittle description.....I started with a vintage photo of women dancing in a stream.....The thought kept coming to me that they were dancing because they were good friends and happy to be with each other but also because they were free to explore and make whatever art they wanted to at any given time....which explains the open door bird cage and the music that is coming from the old radio in the corner....The butterfly, of course, represents new life, in this case, their art........This was a fun piece even though it is dark in color.....
Thanks for all the inspiration each of you give me each day.....
Hugs and Blessings,
Butterfly

  1. They say music is a universal language, I think the same can be said for art. I love the idea that our art connects us, crosses all barriers and we 'dance' even though we've never met. Powerful symbolism in this page, great work Nancy!

  4. I love this! So enjoyed the narration about the women friends! Made me smile so big!

On my blog you mentioned the potter's wheel. So do you make pottery? That is something I would love to try. Wish I lived closer so I could stop by for a lesson.

What I was talking about was that I help faciliate a retreat at the Potter's House and the name of the retreat is "Footsteps to the Potters House"....I have tried making pottery but never got the hang of it so now I just buy mine...I found it harder than it looks.....
