Finished a Page

Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your encouragement and great advice yesterday after my meltdown....You were each so kind to take your time to reassure me that all was not lost...I think alot of my frustration comes from not knowing what to do or how to accomplish what I have in my mind...I know that comes with experience, trial and error but thanks for letting me be me.....
I tried again today and I am going to keep trying until I get the hang of it...God is teaching me many lessons and one is sometimes I need to be still and listen.
Hugs and Blessings,
Butterfly

  1. Oh sweetie I wish I had seen your post yesterday, but you got good advice I see. There is no wrong or right way to do journal pages. As I am sure you are seeing from other blogs and books there are so many different styles. Your "style" will evolve as you continue to do them. Just play in them and see what happens. Gesso is wonderful to cover the one's you just cannot live with. I love the stuff!!!!

This one you did is wonderful I tell you!!

    Hugs!

  2. Hi Mrs.Williamson,
I just wanted to let you know that after a very trying week mentally, emotionally, and spiritually your blog has lifted my spirits and reminded me that everything is in God's hands and that he will help us get through the toughest of times. I hope all is well. Love Bridget

  4. Beautifully done, amid the abundance of colour there is something haunting about the page, it moves you. I'd say this is an outstanding comeback from the place of frustration :-)

  7. WOW, this journal page is eye poppingly gorgeous. Sometimes I paint something so ugly and I have spent all this time and it turns out bad and I feel so defeated---I can identify---but it looks like you recovered big time with this GORGEOUS piece. Tell us how you did it if you have time!!!

  8. Well, Martha was so sweet to want to know how it was done so here goes....First I collaged a napkin on the page....that's alot of the background I just highlighted parts of it...then I transfered the church. I collaged the girl reading and the rocks she's sitting on and the clock in the corner...I used a stamp to put the words on the church and I was washing with pink and green between the collages....finsihed with gel matte..and that's pretty much it.
Thanks for your wonderful and encouraging comments....You bless me so much...
    Hugs and Blessings,
